Dear Cobham Park Church Family,
Each day, we are buried in bad news. We see it on TV. We read about it online. We hear about it from our friends. Yet another funeral is scheduled. Health dwindles. Relationships splinter. Nations totter. Hope falters. We grieve. We worry. We’re angry. How can we escape this unyielding tomb of bad news? We desperately need the gospel—which means “good news”!
God visited us in Jesus, Who told the truth about both us and Him. But people naturally preferred darkness to disturbing light. They therefore tried to kill God’s Truth on a cross. This reveals how hopelessly depraved and selfish we humans are—and how we deserve death for it. For us, that’s the worst news of all.
But Easter makes good news out of all this bad news! In the resurrection, God does what was—and is—humanly impossible: love defeats sin and life conquers death. And now God will raise us with Christ. The stone has been rolled away, and we are free! Shake off your death shroud! We have hope in this hopeless world. We must no longer be defined by bad news. Let’s think more on the gospel’s good news—and live in it!
In His Love,
Pastor Keith
