“to him who alone does great wonders, for his steadfast love endures forever;” —Psalm 136:4 (ESV)
Dear Cobham Park Church Family,
We increasingly live in artificial bubbles of our own making. We spend hours each day staring at glowing digital screens for our entertainment, truth, and meaning. We spend much of our time sealed off from sun, fresh air, and the rest of God’s creation. We consider it essential to keep our room temperature within a few degrees of optimum comfort (and we pay for expensive heating and air systems to make sure of this). After years of practice, we’ve mastered the art of obsessive worry over things which do nothing to help our souls—and we often end up miserable because of it. It’s time to pop this artificial bubble!
Wake up, look up, and get out to see God’s wonders! Relish His best gifts, which have nothing to do with technology, politics, or anything else in our culture’s noisy matrix. See new life blooming all around. Smell the fragrances of spring air. Feel the sun again. And notice our Creator’s wonders in people too (like a mother’s unconditional love). Meditate on the God who can make such things, for his steadfast love endures forever! He not only made our universe, but also went as far as the cross to give us true life! Let that sink in!
In His Steadfast Love,
Pastor Keith
