Dear Cobham Park Church Family,
Time—we impatiently wish it would hurry up and get out of our way.
Time—we desperately try to slow it down as we dread its passing.
Time—we waste it without a second thought.
Time—we can never go back for a redo.
Time—it is our dearest gift and greatest accountability.
Time—we don’t know how much of it we have.
Time—God waits on the other side of it.
Time can be terribly cruel or wonderfully kind, depending on what we do with it. My problem is that I often miss out on what is happening right now because I’m distracted by what’s already behind me or what might happen up ahead. I pine for the past or grieve its injuries. I fret about the future or am lost in anticipation. Meanwhile, I neglect the only time I actually possess: my “now.”
“Now” is where Jesus meets us: “For he says, ‘In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.’ Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2; ESV).”
Is the past dominating your attention? Is worry constantly holding you back? As a child of God — and as His church — let’s meet Jesus in what He is leading us to do right now. Now is our precious time of opportunity!
In His Love,
Pastor Keith
